99 questions reserach node, a collaboration between Pivô Salvador de Bahia, Brazil, Waza Lubumbashi, Congo and Humboldt Forum, Berlin.
2023 - 2024
"South-to-South" is a 99 Questions research node, a collaboration between Pivô Art and Research (Salvador de Bahia), Centre d'art Waza (Lubumbashi), and the Humboldt Forum (Berlin), curated by Sara Garzón, Patrick Mudekereza, Christian Nyampeta, Michael Dieminger, Monica Hôff, and Ana Roman. "South-to-South" primarily focuses on an exchange of knowledge on technologies between Salvador de Bahia in Brazil and Lubumbashi in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The gathering unites artists, thinkers, and community organizers to explore the intersections of technology, art, and local cosmologies. Through discussions, walks, music, and shared cooking sessions, participants aim to redefine understandings of technologies. They draw inspiration from the rich tapestry of African and Afro-diasporic cosmologies, as well as age-old land-based practices.
